Savannah Guthrie has renewed her appeal for information about her missing mother, describing her family’s continuing anguish as the investigation remains unresolved. Nancy Guthrie, 84, was reported missing from her home in Tucson, Arizona, on 1 February. Authorities believe she was abducted, but have not established whether she is alive. No arrests have been made.

In an Instagram post on Sunday, the Today show co-host shared an old drawing by her daughter that depicted an umbrella and expressed a child’s need for her mother. Guthrie also posted a photograph of Nancy, explaining that the drawing reflected her own feelings. She said that although the family was trying to carry on and remain strong, particularly for its young children, the appearance of normal life did not reflect its experience.

Guthrie described the family’s longing for Nancy and its need for answers, writing: “We ache for her, we cry out for answers, we cannot move forward.” She appealed directly to anyone who could provide information, reiterated that a reward remained available and said the family wanted to celebrate her mother and give her the dignity she deserved. She also thanked those who had shown kindness and asked people to continue praying.

The latest appeal follows another public request three months earlier. In August, Guthrie urged people to speak up if they knew or suspected anything about the disappearance. She asked whether anyone recognized the handwriting in ransom demands or had noticed unusual or troubling behavior, including from someone close to them. That appeal also reiterated the family’s offer of a $1 million reward.

Investigators found drops of blood on Nancy Guthrie’s porch and recovered DNA from a glove discovered about two miles from her home. The glove initially appeared similar to one worn by a suspect captured on surveillance footage on the night she disappeared. Investigators later ruled it out after determining that it belonged to a restaurant worker rather than the abductor.

The FBI has separately offered $100,000 for conclusive information about Nancy Guthrie. It is seeking a man of average build whose height is estimated at between 5 feet 9 inches and 5 feet 10 inches. Savannah Guthrie has repeatedly used her national television platform to draw attention to the disappearance and seek help.

In July, authorities released two ransom notes that had been sent to a Tucson television station. The first, sent on 2 February, claimed Nancy was unharmed but afraid and demanded $4 million in cryptocurrency for her release. A second note, received four days later, claimed she had died shortly after being abducted. Her fate remains unconfirmed.
