US President Donald Trump's Special Envoy Steve Witkoff has announced that working-level negotiations between Russia and Ukraine are scheduled to take place in Abu Dhabi from November 10 to November 11. The United States will act as the mediator for these discussions, which are part of President Trump's broader mission to end the ongoing war.

According to Witkoff, the talks in the UAE capital will concentrate on several critical areas. These include establishing post-war security arrangements, achieving de-escalation of hostilities, coordinating humanitarian efforts, and determining the next steps toward a lasting peace.

In addition to the bilateral talks in Abu Dhabi, Witkoff revealed that US negotiators will meet with representatives from France, Germany, the United Kingdom, the European Union, and NATO in Brussels during the same week. The agenda for these meetings will focus on security guarantees for Ukraine, the post-war security architecture for Europe, and economic opportunities to support Ukraine's reconstruction efforts.

Witkoff expressed optimism about the diplomatic momentum, stating that the team looks forward to building on the progress made in Kyiv, Oslo, and St. Petersburg. He emphasized the goal of reaching a comprehensive and durable peace agreement that provides lasting security for future generations.

This announcement follows earlier statements by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in October. At that time, Zelenskyy indicated that a trilateral meeting involving technical teams from Russia and the United States was planned for the first half of November to discuss ending the war. He noted that the timing of such a meeting depended largely on the US side.

In late October, a series of talks involving Zelenskyy, Witkoff, and European leaders took place in Oslo. During those discussions, the parties addressed territorial issues, security concerns, and Ukraine's post-war development. Witkoff also visited St. Petersburg, where he met with Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss potential peace terms.

Zelenskyy has recently expressed his readiness to meet with Putin and President Trump in Istanbul. The purpose of such a meeting would be to discuss the specific terms for ending the war. The upcoming meetings in Abu Dhabi and Brussels represent a significant step in the current diplomatic efforts to resolve the conflict.

The United States is positioning itself as the central mediator in these ongoing negotiations. By coordinating with both the warring parties and key European allies, Washington aims to create a framework for peace that addresses both immediate security needs and long-term economic stability for Ukraine.

The focus on post-war security arrangements highlights the complexity of the negotiations. Both sides must agree on the mechanisms that will ensure Ukraine's safety and integrate it into the broader European security structure. The involvement of NATO and major European powers in the Brussels talks underscores the international dimension of these discussions.

As the dates for the Abu Dhabi talks approach, attention will turn to whether the working-level discussions can produce concrete results. The success of these meetings will likely determine the pace of further high-level summits and the overall trajectory toward a peace agreement.
