Israeli forces conducted multiple attacks across the Gaza Strip on Monday, resulting in the deaths of at least four Palestinians. A fifth individual also died from injuries sustained in a previous assault, according to medical sources and local media reports.
In the southern city of Khan Younis, at least two people were killed during a combination of a gun attack and an air raid. Meanwhile, in the central area, a drone strike on the village of al-Musaddar claimed a third life, medical officials confirmed.
The fourth casualty resulted from a strike on a vehicle in the Tal al-Hawa neighbourhood of northern Gaza City. The Wafa news agency identified the victim as Hani Hamed Kahil. The agency reported that five other people were wounded in that specific incident.
The Israeli military stated that it targeted Palestinian fighters in three separate strikes during the day. However, the defense force did not provide additional details regarding the specific locations or the nature of the targets.
Wafa also reported that Youssef Abu Younis died on Monday from wounds he sustained in an earlier attack. The initial strike targeted a police post in al-Mawasi on Sunday. His death raised the total number of reported fatalities for Monday to five.
This loss followed a significant incident on Sunday when at least five Palestinian police officers were killed in an attack. In another development in Gaza City, three Palestinians were injured on Monday when a minibus belonging to a community kitchen was hit in the Zeitoun district.
According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, at least 1,593 Palestinians have been killed since the United States-brokered ceasefire agreement began in October 2025. The ministry noted that 5,748 others were wounded during this period. Overall, the conflict has resulted in the deaths of at least 74,609 Palestinians and left 175,872 people wounded.
The latest violence occurred while efforts were underway to secure shelter for displaced Palestinians before the winter season. Israeli Army Radio reported that Nickolay Mladenov, the high representative of the Board of Peace, arrived in Israel on Monday. The board was established by the United States to oversee a peace plan for Gaza. Mladenov sought permission to bring in tents and push for steps to accelerate reconstruction.
The United Nations migration agency highlighted the vast scale of the need in Gaza in a report from October 9. The agency stated that nearly two million people required shelter assistance. It further noted that half of the tents and makeshift shelters in the territory needed replacing, leaving many families exposed as winter approached.
